Rear Basket Installation Guide

Voltbike Rear Basket Installation Guide

Included Hardware:

  • 1x Rear Basket
  • 2x Metal Mounting Brackets (slotted bars)
  • 4x Allen Head Bolts
  • 4x Nuts (and washers if included)

Tools Required:

  • Allen key (Hex wrench)
  • Wrench or socket (to hold the nuts)

Installation Steps:

Step 1: Position the Basket Place the rear basket on top of your e-bike's rear rack. Center it and ensure it sits flat against the rack. Make sure it is positioned far enough back that it won't interfere with the rider's seat. You can chose the direction you prefer the rack to be mounted.

Step 2: Insert the Bolts Look inside the basket at the flat bars with slots running across the bottom. Take the four bolts and drop them down through these slots. You want the bolts to pass down just on the inside (or outside, depending on your rack's width) of the thick outer tubes of your bike's rear rack. Have the washer position adjacent to the bolt head.

Step 3: Attach the Brackets Underneath Take one of the metal mounting brackets and hold it underneath the rear rack's tubes. Align the slots in the bracket with the bolts protruding downwards. The goal is to sandwich the bike's rear rack tubing between the bottom of the basket and this metal bracket.

Step 4: Thread the Nuts Push the bolts completely through the bracket. Thread a nut onto the bottom of each bolt. Hand-tighten them for now so the basket is loosely secured but can still be nudged into the perfect position.

Step 5: Repeat for the Other Side Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for the other side of the basket using the second mounting bracket and the remaining two bolts and nuts.

Step 6: Final Alignment and Tightening Double-check that the basket is straight and perfectly centered on the rack. Once you are happy with the placement, use your Allen key on the bolt head (inside the basket) and your wrench on the nut (underneath).

Tighten all four bolts down securely. The metal brackets underneath should pull up tight against the bottom of the rack tubing, clamping the basket firmly in place. Give the basket a solid shake to ensure it does not slide or rattle.
