Choosing Your Bike
Choose the Kodiak if you want the classic bamboo-platform cargo bike, a slightly lighter bike, and a rigid fork that stays predictable under load ($2,049 CAD). Choose the Kodiak V2 if you want front suspension, an integrated battery, a torque sensor, and fatter 20" tires — especially if you ride rough pavement or want the optional passenger / front-basket setup ($2,149 CAD).
Q2: Can these replace a second car?
A2: For many households, yes — for trips under about 10–15 km with cargo that fits the rack. You still need a car for long highway trips, large furniture, or multi-stop days beyond battery range. The point is cutting the short, expensive trips.
Q3: Is the Kodiak V2 good for a passenger?
A3: It can be fitted with optional rear passenger bars with padded seats (rear child carrier listed at $200; front rack $80). Accessories are sold separately. Always follow weight limits and use spoke protection / child-safe setups where required.

Capacity & Performance
Both Kodiak and Kodiak V2 rear racks are rated for up to 120 lb of cargo. Total rider-plus-cargo payload is 300 lb. Do not exceed either limit.
Both use a Bafang 500W (750W peak) hub motor with 80 Nm torque and a 32 km/h top speed. Listed range: 80–100+ km (Kodiak) and 100+ km (Kodiak V2). Heavy cargo, hills, cold weather, and high assist levels reduce range.
The Kodiak is listed as eligible for BC’s SUVI program — up to $858 CAD if you qualify. Always check current program rules and application steps before ordering.
Safety
Keep heavy items low and centred. Secure everything with straps or a net before rolling. Load evenly so the bike does not lean. Check tire pressure and brakes more often when you ride loaded.
Yes. Extra weight increases stopping distance. Leave more space, slow earlier, and keep the hydraulic discs in good condition — especially for delivery or family use.
Not on the stock rear rack setup. Install rear wheel spoke protection (and any required child seat / bars) before carrying a passenger.
