What is Hibernation Mode means?
If the battery on your Voltbike is in hibernation mode, it means that it has entered a low-power state to protect itself from deep discharge, which could damage the battery. This is common in lithium-ion batteries, and it typically occurs when the battery's charge drops below a certain threshold (often around 20% or lower). In hibernation mode, the battery is effectively "sleeping" to preserve its health.
To exit hibernation mode and get the battery back to normal operation, follow these steps:
- Charge the Battery: Connect your Voltbike battery to the charger and allow it to charge for a while. The hibernation mode is designed to wake up when the battery reaches a certain charge level (usually around 10-20%). The battery management system (BMS) will then allow the battery to function normally again once it has enough charge.
- Wait for the Battery to Respond: Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the battery to "wake up" after being connected to the charger. If the battery was deeply discharged, it might take a little longer for it to show any signs of charging.
- Check the Charger and Connections: Ensure that the charger is working correctly and that all connections are secure. If the battery doesn't wake up after being plugged in for a while, there might be an issue with the charger or the battery itself.
- Battery Temperature: Make sure the battery isn't too hot or cold, as extreme temperatures can also prevent it from charging. Lithium batteries tend to go into protection mode if they are outside of their optimal temperature range (typically 0°C to 45°C or 32°F to 113°F).
If, after following these steps, your Voltbike battery does not exit hibernation mode or starts showing unusual behavior, there may be an issue with the battery or its charging system. In this case, it would be best to consult our Technical Service Department or take the battery to a qualified technician for further inspection.
