Why we add throttle delay of 6-8km/h on a Mid-Drive Voltbike models?

1. Preventing Drivetrain Damage:

The Mid-drive motors apply power directly to the bike’s chain, gears, and crankset, which means sudden, jerky power delivery can put significant stress on these components. A throttle delay smooths out the power application, giving the drivetrain a moment to adjust and handle the force gradually.

2. Protecting the Motor and Battery:

By adding a delay, the system ensures the motor doesn’t abruptly receive full throttle input. This reduces the risk of the motor or battery being overloaded, improving the longevity of the bike’s components.

3. Smooth Riding Experience:

A gradual application of power ensures a smoother ride. It prevents the jarring sensation that can happen when a motor suddenly kicks in full force, especially in situations like starting from a stop or when changing gears.

4. Optimized Pedal Assist:

Our bikes are equipped with both throttle and pedal assist, a throttle delay can complement the pedal assist system. It allows for more seamless transitions between pedal power and motor power, creating a more natural riding feel.
