Overview
750W Peak Power
BAFANG is the world’s biggest manufacturer of hub motors for e-bikes. VoltBike Kodiak is using Bafang G06 series geared motor which provides 80 N.m. max torque and up to 750w of peak power. The Bafang G06 series is remarkable for its high efficiency and power thanks to the integrated nylon planetary gears.
Samsung Battery
VoltBike Kodiak is using 48v 17.5Ah battery pack with Samsung INR18650-35E cells. Samsung SDI’s superb cell balance technology contributes to the uniform quality of the packs and driving units, and ultimately to the quality of the e-bike. Samsung SDI’s Li-ion battery cells are preferred by high-end e-bike makers and companies that lead the e-bike market.
Backlit Color Display
Large practical display located in the middle of the handlebar offers real time stats such as speed, pedal assist level, battery capacity, distance traveled and current load. You can also charge your cell phone through the built-in USB connector. New for the display is the lighting sensor which atomically activates your lights when it gets dark.
Sturdy Rear Rack
Standard for Kodiak is aluminum rear rack with large bamboo platform. Rated for up to 120lbs of cargo this rack can fit any load with ease. Mounted directly on the rack is LED rear taillight with brake light functionality. Please note that this rear rack is not setup to carry child. If you plan to do so you will have to install rear wheel spoke protection.
Rigid Fork
The VoltBike Kodiak features rigid fork which offers durability under heavy load and constant and predictable steering feedback.
Step-Through Convenience
Step-through bikes are the easiest for riders to mount and dismount by simply stepping through the curved frame. VoltBike Elegant's aluminum step-through frame offers comfortable ride and is fun and enjoyable for your everyday routine.
Hydraulic Stopping Power
Voltbike Kodiak is using Tektro Auriga hydraulic front and rear disc brakes with 180mm rotors. Tektro Auriga comp disc brakes features an open system design using non-corrosive and environment-friendly mineral oil. Features dual piston design, melt forged caliper body with automatic positioning via front or rear adapters.

Fit Guidelines
Choosing the right frame size is essential for ensuring comfort on your new bike, and the simplest way to approach this is by measuring your inseam. Your inseam is measured from the middle of your crotch down to your ankle bone on either leg.
Suitable inseam range:
< 30" 76cm31" 79cm33" 84cm44" 112cm46" 117cm> 47" 119cmGreat fit with plenty of room for seat height adjustment.
Good fit but potentially limited seat height adjustment or top tube clearence.
Poor fit, frame is either too big or too small.

Read PostOne year use and 4000kms. Overall satisfied, but a few things to consider which happend to our bike.
-Sensor for pedal assist doesn't work in rain, happened almost immediately after purchase. Our friends with voltbikes have this issue as well.
-Centre stand can flop down by itself. The spring holding it up is too weak, if you go over a bump it can flop down and scrape on the ground.
-The Tektro hydraulic brakes have a brakelight/motor cutout feature. Our mechanic found it was getting stuck on (cutting motor power). It required "flicking" the lever blade for the brake light / motor cutoff to stop.
-These tektro calipers are apparently slightly annoying to bleed compared to shimano, our mechanic said. This is probably important because brake pads only last us 1500km or less. Rotors are worn beyond spec as well.
-Kenda tires were great, no punctures but one pinchflat in the rear over 4000km, hit a really hard edge with too low pressure. Rear tire is totally worn at 4000km and needs replacing, front will be done as well.
Would buy again, would be a great bike if the centre stand, pedal assist sensor were solved. I will probably have my mechanic install different brake calipers to ease brake pad replacement. The tektro levers cutoff switch getting stuck was kind of annoying as well.
Getting about 50-60km range with the 900wh battery, not pedaling particularly hard.
Exactly what I need to transport myself and my son around town.
Overall very happy with my purchase of the Kodiak! I would highly recommend getting one for commuting to work or just having fun getting around town.
This is my second Kodiak, really good bike great charging great range. Really fun to bike to school with kids.
SHIPPING: Free shipping is such a great value! Delivery to Gatineau, QC took about a week with Day & Ross. Tracking info took about 2 days to become available for check-up. Back of bike rubbed and got scratched during shipping which is unfortunate (see picture).
PROS: Fall sale value was amazing, which no other company could match (compared dozens of companies). Nice choice of components for this price point including a great battery upgrade option and free accessory. Very easy to assemble. Nice supporting videos on their site to get you started. Comes with many accessories that others company would charge for: bamboo top board, bamboo side boards, branded chain slap protector. Other available accessories are not overly expensive. Battery was 100% charged and front rack accessory was pre-installed.
CONS: Paint seems to scratch easily. Front LED light doesn't do a good job at night, you'll want to replace it quickly. No rivets on the top tube to screw-in a bottle cage accessory. No skirt accessory option to protect children's feet from the back wheel (I used a $6 crazy carpet - see picture). No cargo seating options available, but fortunately, Yuba accessories are compatible (see picture).
OVERALL: Almost Perfect! You can't go wrong with this cargo bike. No other company beats this value. Go for it without hesitation! Just add or replace accessories as needed. :)
