If washing the bike can be an issue, how about riding in the rain?

Good question! Riding in light rain is generally fine however riding through a heavy downpour could cause some temporary battery management issues. Generally I encourage our customers to cover the very top part of their battery (where the battery connector is) with a sheet of plastic, pvc, saran wrap or clear tape. If the rare case your battery starts acting funny after exposure to rain, simply unlock it, remove it from the bike frame, wipe it down with a towel and let it dry out for 24hrs.
