Read PostElegant V2 is a beautiful bike with a major flaw: it is rated at 65nm torque but behave like a 40nm.
In throttle only it can't climb a 4% slope, the motor reaching 300W and the bike stop climbing. It is more evident in the Walk Assist Mode, I have to push the bike to get it moving and the bike stop if there is any kind of incline, that's weird and counter intuitive for this Mode. I understand that it is a Pedal Assist bike but I bought it for its supposed 65nm torque. If I compare the Elegant to my entry level IGO (Metro CX) who is rated at 48nm, the IGO is much stronger in throttle only (600W) and in the Walk Mode (118W available) it pulls you forward so I can climb stairs. I took time to reach out the Voltbike support team thinking I got a bad motor and/or controller. They don't seem to understand my concern about the lack of torque and the weak Walk assist Mode. I am planning to buy a fat bike to add to my collection but wondering which company I will buy from. This year I purposely bought an IGO and a Voltbike to compare. I really tried to like my Elegant V2 and was happy to pay $1000 more than the IGO Metro CX but the lack of torque is a let down.
This bike is exactly as I expected (I did try my friends before I purchased). I love the grey color. I have used the bike almost daily to go to work and it gets me up quite steep hills without any problems. I have used gear 6 with level 4-5 assist.
Hello,
After testing my new bike I am very satisfied with its performance. My goal in getting an electric bike was to be able to have assistance on slopes and this one does its job very well. I would recommend it without hesitation.
I have a new Elegant V2. I love how stable it is so I felt safe in all kinds of terrain. I wish the display was in color but it was very easy to read and navigate through.
Particulièrement satisfait des vélos acquis. Merci. La Ville de Québec ferait un excellent point de service!
