  • Fit Guidelines

Choosing the right frame size is essential for ensuring comfort on your new bike, and the simplest way to approach this is by measuring your inseam. Your inseam is measured from the middle of your crotch down to your ankle bone on either leg.

Suitable inseam range for 16.5" frame:

    < 27.0"     69cm
    29.0" 74cm
    30.0" 76cm
    42.0" 107cm
    43.0" 109cm
    > 45.0" 114cm

Suitable inseam range for 18.5" frame:

    < 28.0"     71cm
    30.0" 76cm
    31.0" 79cm
    44.0" 112cm
    45.0" 114cm
    > 47.0" 119cm

Great fit with plenty of room for seat height adjustment.

Good fit but potentially limited seat height adjustment or top tube clearence.

Poor fit, frame is either too big or too small.

Update Fall of 2024

The Outback.....WOW! What an amazing bike…… UPDATE Nov 2024

My Outback still has the WOW factor, I have really enjoyed biking this spring, summer and fall and have finally put it away for the winter. I have put on a total of 1002 KM since May using it to commute to work and back several times a week, general paved trail riding in the city, and hitting the trails and gravel roads while camping throughout the summer and fall.

The versatility of 3” tires is awesome, it still preforms well on concrete, with only some minor road noise, and handle the gravel trails and roads with authority. My Outback is still going strong with only minor maintenance required, which involved removing and cleaning my pads of dust and grime, brake rotors and general cleaning as well. I used the Help videos to do this, which makes cleaning or changing pads very easy to do. Whenever I have had question regarding maintenance of my Bike Volt Bike responded to my emailed questions within 24 hours; I am already looking forward to riding next year.

For my Outback I designed and 3D printed a battery terminal cover and a LCD Screen Cover The terminal cover will protect the battery terminal from dust and some moistures when storing or transporting your bike without the battery installed as I do. You can find these STL files on Thingiverse searching for “Volt Outback”

**Just a word of advice**, make you lock your bike up securely no matter where you are storing it as I found out with an attempted theft of my bike from inside of my garage. Luckily, I had I used a 18mm Steel U Shackle with a 10mm hardened steel chain meant for motorcycles to secured it to a concreate floor anchor, this is the reason I still have my Outback.

Outback

This is a great bike. As as senior I researched a ton of bikes before picking the Outback. I was a little concerned that there was no step through model but i manage fine with it. The bike handles well on a variety of surfaces from small trails to paved roads. Good service from Volt too. The bike arrived within a couple of days, well packed, and was easy to add the few parts needed to get up and going. Fun bike to ride.

Disappointed in the way our deal finished ....

Everything was going very good except for the last moment of the deal ! When I started to inquire about Voltbike , I had asked if I could change to a smaller tire on my Outback and I was told yes but there would be an extra charge for the tire switch plus some labor and I was all good with paying the extra expense . So the next day , I place my order for 2 Ebikes and I request a down sizing of the tire, then I get a No Can Do answer because we do not have the tire in stock so I asked for another size and I get the same response then I asked what can you offer me as an alternative size tire . The response I got was , I should change the tire once the one I'm getting is worn out ???? Long story short , I was happy with the way our dealing started but was very disappointed with the missed information and how it finished . FYI : I have 25 years of experience of manufacturing, wholesale and retailling of recreational product, I was the national sales for Canada , so I do know how things work on the corporate side and at the retail end . As for the bikes I ordered , even if we have less than 50 KM on each bike things seems to be going good so far. Yours truly , Paul

Hello Paul,
Thank you for the review. Very sorry to hear about how this turned out, as it's well below the standard we strive for. We are working to improve our inventory management, as I believe this is a from a disconnect between the sales team's assumptions and mechanic team's reality. Our sales agents have been reminded not to offer customizations as our bikes are designed to be produced by the factory with suitable components, and tires wide enough to protect the rim. We hope these bikes will perform well for you for many years to come.

Best regards,
VoltBike

Outback first impressions

Wow ! For the price this is a really nice bike, the fact that this quality bike assembled is delivered to your door step is awesome. If there was just a little detail i’d say it is slightly lackng braking power. But its a very little detail. Happy trails

Thank you for your review Ronald. The Outback is an amazing bike. There is a small set-screw on the front of the brake lever that can be tightened which may help firm up the brakes, or when you go for a tune-up as the mechanic to ensure the mineral oil is topped up.
