They shipped Canada Post?!?!?

About two weeks into the postal strike I ordered these and they shipped Canada Post. I asked what they were thinking and they looked at other options and then I got shipping confirmation that they shipped Canada post. They want a review of the planetary gears but I still don’t have them. Frustrating. My bike is sitting there awaiting repair. I’m driving a V8 Diesel to work instead of riding my ebike. Disappointed to say the least.

2018 Yukon planetary gear replacement

Bought our Yukon new in 2018. in 2024, my rear tire was having an annoying squeak. Sounded like some sort of bearing. Watched the video on how to remove the rear motor assembly. Very easy. Once i pulled off the planetary gear, all three gears spun smoothly, but the shaft bearing was leaking grease and was not freely moving. Couldn't hear the squeak while spinning on the shaft (with the motor out) but with the grease showing and the tighter movement I chanced it and bought a new planetary gear. Came within a few days, replaced, added lithium grease to the gears and re-assembled. Voila! the squeak went away! Very Pleased.

Good as New After 10,000 Miles

I have been riding my Yukon 750 for five years and enjoying every minute. I just hit the 10,000 mile mark and have noticed a definite increase in gear noise over the past year. After studying the Voltbike video on gear replacement, I ordered in a set of the planetary gears. I also obtained a small amount of Mobil 26 grease through Amazon. The installation is very simple and after cleaning up the old grease and a few errant teeth from the old gears, the reassembly was completed in short time. All I can say is WOW! The bike is smooth riding and very quiet; just like it was when new. I've already happily started the next 10,000 miles.

Planetary gears

Stripped my previous planetary gears after about 5000k. Put the order in and waited 3 business days until it was shipped- after two days of no action I realized I needed to phone in so it would get put in the mail. After I phoned it was shipped same day. I wasn’t able to commute for two weeks while waiting for the product and then finding the time to install it. Haven’t had any issues with the gears since and I’ve ridden another 4000k or more on these gears.
I made the suggestion at the time: why not have a person or store in Winnipeg who has a few of the voltbike products we need regularly? Planetary gears, motors, bike tubes, batteries etc. So a person here could buy it the same day instead of waiting for it to ship from Vancouver. For folks like me who commute to and from work that would be helpful- taking a couple weeks off because my bike is broken kinda sucks. In the end it was fine and I’ve been greatly enjoying my daily commute through all the Winnipeg weather.
