Our bike was delivered March 16th to an address 2 hours away from where we live in Ontario. When my husband called he was told that Day and Ross (the carrier) had subbed the delivery to a 3rd party as our address was rural. ( 45 min northwest of Toronto) We were to give it a couple more days to have this 3rd party carrier make the delivery to our address. During this time we were told that Day and Ross is having difficulty with their website/ tracking. After a couple of days my husband calls again and inquire after our order. He is told again about the Day and Ross website/tracking issue and he asked that VoltBike call and follow up. So my husband called back the next day as nobody called back and was told that they did call Day and Ross but gave up as they were on hold for an hour. So then my husband was told an email would be sent to Day and Ross to escalate the inquiry. My husband again called the next day was told Day and Ross was looking into it but it would take time. Then we received an email that Day and Ross found our bike and we should receive it the following Monday, Tuesday at the latest. On Tuesday morning we still had not received any updates so I sent and email asking for the new tracking information. By Tuesday afternoon no response so I called and yes I was really aggressive at this point. Maybe our $2400 order is too small for them to care about but that is not the case for us. I was told it was not their fault, they shipped and it was now up to the carrier. This set me off even more, she didn’t seem to understand that they had my money but I didn’t have the bike and that WAS their responsibility. I pointed out how many times my husband had to reach out because nobody kept him in the loop within the timelines they told us to wait. Ya I was irate. The nonchalance about the issue just really irked me. I can’t believe we are told to buy Canadian and this is the attitude.
So at the end of my ranting I was cc’d on an email again to Day and Ross where they confirm they have the bike and will respond with an update. I get the update that the bike is on its way and will be delivered the next day, Wednesday. Let me back track a bit here, the bike was not subbed out to a 3rd party carrier it was delivered to the wrong address. The condition of the box clearly opened and taped back together haphazardly was reported to Day and Ross and the delivery guy took pictures as well. So we are 10 days out from receiving the bike and you guessed it - no call or email to follow up to see if all is okay. We are now dreading any warranty issues that may arise considering all of this.
It is very wide, seems comfortable, but the front nut kept falling off as the boot is too short and it turns as you tighten the nut, but there’s no way to get a wrench on the other side to stop it. The nut that was sent with it is too large, it slides right over the threads until it gets to the vinyl part of the nut. Overall is OK for the price but couple things to consider. They also don’t send the original seat with the bike if you upgrade while purchasing the bike in case you’re wondering.
very good bike
Great bike , glad I got the bigger seat and bigger battery
