Disappointing Quality – Would Not Recommend
I do not recommend VoltBike folding pedals. After a disappointing experience with a $35 pair of folding pedals from Amazon, I decided to try VoltBike’s, assuming they would deliver the level of quality I had come to expect from VoltBike. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
The bearings wore out even faster than those in the cheaper Amazon pedals. The deterioration became so bad that I could feel the problem through my feet and hear distinct clicking noises once, twice, or even three times per pedal revolution. The noise got progressively worse until my wife, riding behind me, asked what was wrong with my bike.
I eventually replaced them with a $100 set of all-metal folding pedals made in Japan, purchased on Amazon, and I’m very happy with them.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend VoltBike folding pedals if you weigh more than 150 lbs, ride frequently, or regularly tackle varied terrain, including trails. Mine simply did not hold up to regular use.
