Frequently asked questions

Some questions and answers are automatically generated.

Is the screen bright and easy to read?
Yes. Multiple reviewers praise the display as bright, clear, and sharp. One customer notes it is especially useful for viewing trip distance and battery information during rides.
Is installation difficult?
Most customers find the installation straightforward once mounted, but several report that the tiny mounting nuts are difficult to position. A few reviewers recommend using masking tape or consulting YouTube videos to secure the nuts in their brackets before final tightening.
What bike models is this compatible with?
The 860C Deluxe is compatible with all rear-hub drive VoltBike models with a 5-pin green plug cable harness. It is not compatible with mid-drive motor electric bikes.
How does this compare to the standard 860C?
The Deluxe version features a larger 3.5-inch screen (1/4" bigger than standard), USB charging capability, automatic lights, and a 4th button for easier menu navigation. The body is also thinner and lighter.
Can I use this as a direct replacement?
Yes, if your VoltBike has the compatible 5-pin green plug connector. One reviewer upgraded from a 2020 model and confirms it works as a replacement, though some display features differ between versions.
How often does the screen battery need charging?
According to one reviewer's experience, the display battery may need charging every 3 months during winter, with charging taking about 3 days per cycle—though this may vary by usage patterns.
Does the screen display speed range information?
The 860C Deluxe displays trip kilometers, battery level, and other ride data. One reviewer notes that while the newer version does not show a speed range number like their older model, it retains trip distance tracking.
What happens if the display shuts off during a ride?
Reviewers note that when the display stops working, the bike becomes unusable—the display is essential to the bike's operation and not merely a readout device.
