17OCT2024: Reply from Kenneth Cambell replies with only the following- "Unfortunately, we don't have another options on racks. If the rack doesn't fit please sent return it." No other explanation for why they do not fit, or a process for how to return them.
17OCT2024: I replied to Kenneth asking what their process to return these for a refund.
21OCT2024: Still no reply from Volt Bike...
My biggest issues are:
- I sent them photos of both bikes to ensure that the parts I ordered off their website for my specific bikes would fit, and after review of my photos, the parts were sent.
-The Bottle Cages wouldn't even fit between the frame rails without modification, nor would any of the hardware line up with the existing holes.
- The Rear Racks would not fit existing frame brackets. The attachment points were not compatible in any way. This could easily be remedied for the earlier frame design with a bracket made of similar tubing in a U-shaped design- pinched on both ends to mount to existing mounting configuration- with a flat plate welded to it with two mounting holes to mate with rear rack bracket. I would have sent a drawing, but I am unable to in this format.
- The rear rack bracket welded to the tubing looks to be distorted from the welding process, which was not then corrected prior to paint/powder coat. This could easily be remedied in the manufacturing process by welding it in a fixture to keep the metal from warping. The paint was too nice for this to have been damaged in shipping, and it would have taken a heck of a shot to bend them that bad.
- No response or apology for the inconvenience.
The bike came with a bottle cage (inside the part box). I had to return mine. I bought the bottle cage...did not know that the bike came with one. Cheers
